WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
For over a decade, we’ve prioritized community-led conservation initiatives, ensuring that local communities guide the work in their regions.
Our team of scientists and policy experts develop programs that address the threats facing Arctic and Atlantic marine ecosystems by listening, learning, and understanding the unique challenges northern Indigenous and coastal communities face.

OUR STORY
Oceans North was founded on a commitment to do conservation differently—finding local solutions to global challenges.
From our beginnings in the Arctic over a decade ago, our approach remains focused on partnership and the understanding that we must earn trust and respect daily. This principle animates our work throughout the Arctic, Atlantic, High Seas, and Greenland, where we have extensive relationships with scientists, natural resource managers, and Indigenous organizations, and communities.
In Greenland, we also have a sibling organization, Oceans North Kalaallit Nunaat.
